*In the cookie of life, friends are the chocolate chips*
Another week come and gone. Four day weeks are always a treat because it’s like Friday comes one day early. As we in the Boston area prep for another six days of rain, we’ll be cheering on the Celtics tonight as they try to rally against the Heat. (Go Celts!)
Some links for the weekend:
I always love this blog (and this family is so cute), and today’s outfit post was so lovely.
As the above quote mentions, friends are important, just ask Beckie.
The cookie in the above actually is as big as the plate. It’s from our wedding. We ate it Tuesday night, as we celebrate our anniversary. It was actually tasty too!
This weekend will be full of crafty goodness for the shop. Check it out. What are your weekend plans?

He didn’t see it coming. No. Not the anniversary. Not that I would get him a gift. He never saw it coming that I’d buy something—anything—glorifying Boston sports teams for us. For our home. But I did.
When I laid eyes on these four Boston sports team prints from J Hill Designs, I knew I had to buy them for someone. And when I realized I had a paper anniversary coming up, I knew I had to get them for Mr. Gets Me Every Time. So I did. And right away. Like I had them sitting under my desk at work for a few weeks, right away.
The result? Mr. Gets Me Every Time loves them. And you know what? So do I! I love the colors, the patterns, the overall design sensibility. Who cares if I’m not the biggest fan of all these teams ? It just means I’ll have to get something to balance it out! (I’m good to go with the Red Sox and the Celtics. It’s just that I’m a Steelers & Penguins fan, not a Patriots nor Bruines fan at all. Maybe a Terrible Towel will look nice framed and hanging near these guys?)
If you’re not a Boston sports fan either, J Hill Designs has tons of other great illustrations of “places she’s never been” like these landmark prints. DC, San Francisco, New York… surely there’s a landmark or city for you too. You also can get personalized state prints which would make PERFECT anniversary gifts!
Last one, promise. Let Jennifer (follow her on Twitter too) design your wedding invitation suite. Her prints are gorgeous and come in so many colors. She’s got great things happening like full-service design and design/print options. Just check it out and get inspired.
PS. Jennifer will be at the Coolidge Corner Arts Festival this weekend, so if you’re in the Brookline area stop by and say hello!
Hey guys! Just a quick little graphic I worked up. Been thinking a lot about the power of positive thinking lately and I’m turning this into my mantra for the summer.
I hope everyone enjoys their holiday weekend. And THANK YOU to all soldiers, past, present & future. Your sacrifices are incredible and not recognized nearly enough.
Now, go. Get to your weekending!

The other day I was on my way out to run some errands and when I turned the corner, this beautiful Dogwood tree caught my eye. I happened to have my camera in my bag, so I did the touristy thing and stopped to snap a few shots.
Spring is in full bloom here in the Boston area, complete with April showers. We were a little light on snow this year, so hopefully we’ll get enough rain to keep everything blooming in the coming weeks.
I’ve lived near this corner for nearly three years and never noticed this Dogwood before. I wonder what else I’m missing?

In spirit, I’m so many things. I’m a creative thinker. A dancer. A teacher. A crafter. A chef. And so much more. By trade, I’m a writer. Namely, a copywriter. And I work at an ad agency.
That means, every day I get to come to work and write. So, if I’m not writing here every day, not to worry, I’m writing at work.
To paraphrase Mr. Glass, you’ve got to make a lot of good work to make better work. Then, call that good work to make even better work. Watch & listen to this. Then, go make good work over and over.

That’s right. It’s a two post kind of day. During my lunchbreak I couldn’t help but think about Mardi Gras and how exciting a celebration it can be. Inspired by the golds, greens and purples featured prominently throughout this event, I went on a little photo excursion.

That’s that. My excuse for looking at pretty pictures becomes an afternoon post for you to feast your eyes on. So, as they say at Mardi Gras, “laissez les bons temps rouler!“
It’s the start (day 2) of a fresh month and that means a new desktop background. For me anyhow. So, I thought I would share some of my favorite places to find fresh looks for those cold desktops. (Six more weeks of winter! Haven’t ya heard?)

The first, above, is from Oh, Hello Friend, which just happens to be one of my favorite blogs to read. This is a closeup on the full desktop image. Danni over at OHF always puts together different sizes, including phone-sized!

The second pair of calendars are ready for the whole year and come from one of my favorite blog styling sites, Pugly Pixel. The above shot isn’t what you’ll see on your desktop. There’s some closeups of a hand drawn set over some other gray ones for a “messy desktop.” Again, Katrina has several sizes available for download. (*I’m currently using her black hand drawn set!)

This last set comes from a new addition to my blogroll, Our Paper Shop. Indeed, as the name implies, it is a paper shop, but their blog is simply fab too. We’ve got two options, the simple “Know Yourself” option (left) and the “Happy Love Month” option (right). Also downloadable in many sizes including phone-sized! I don’t have to tell you guys which one is my favorite of these two, right?
Got any desktop goodies you love? Please do share!
So, for the past year or so, I’ve been saving corks. I didn’t start to do so with any endplan in mind, I just started putting them in a jar. Then that jar got filled. So I started filling another container.
And, now, thanks to the grand Internet, I can find a use for said corks, if so desired. Enter, Pinterest, the treasure trove of useless information and craft inspiration. (Plus a lot more, but let’s not get into semantics, ok?) On to the “pinspiration!”
candle holder | stamp | bathmat | giraffe
Yeah. The bottom row might just be just a little bit unrealistic. I’m digging the first two ideas though. As
corky dorky as it sounds, I may have enough stamps to make a full set of alphabet stamps. I’ve been eyeing this set from Paper Source, but the thought of making my own is so delightful as well.
Alright, that’s enough. Put a cork in it already.
